PAC Worldwide

PAC Worldwide, a global manufacturer of custom packaging solutions, will open its first location in Georgia with a $47 million investment in Fulton County. The company’s new advanced manufacturing facility in Union City is expected to open in summer 2021 and will create 400 jobs.

Microsoft is building multiple data centers in Fulton County in the formation of its “East US 3” Azure cloud region. Data centers are in Palmetto and East Point, and additional office space in Atlanta. Microsoft is making a $420 million investment in each 250,000-square-foot data center, and the centers are expected to result in 20 direct permanent jobs, 15-30 indirect vendor/contractor jobs, and 300-1,000 temporary construction jobs for each center. Microsoft’s facility in downtown Atlanta at Atlantic Station is a $75 million lease investment with expectations to create 1,500 new jobs.

Global Payments

Global Payments, which offers a comprehensive payments platform, acquired Heartland Payment Systems and consolidated operations, obtaining and renovating office space in Sandy Springs and purchasing equipment for a data center in Atlanta.
